GCYC Teen Art Showcase @ The Other Art Fair with Pigment International

Beloved Chicago artist, Dorian Sylvain, guiding our youth artists during their project studio visit

Pigment International and their professional artist mentors are working with our teen artists this year to highlight their community art project “We Walk Here”. The first of a multi-phase community art colab, our Neighborhood Access Program is focused on beautifying the underpasses and passageways young people traverse daily from their homes and schools to “The Center”, library, parks, and other community spaces. At The Other Art Fair (4325 N. Ravenswood Ave), Pigment hosted a special activation where our GCYC artists, alongside professional artists like Dorian Sylvain, Edo, Dwight White created and showcased their vision for the underpass.

We welcomed our partners and fair patrons to contribute their artistic ideas and support for this vital service learning project for our youth and community. For the second year in a row, Pigment International hosted tours, artist chats, and other art industry exploration experiences for our GCYC artists at both the Other Art Fair and EXPO Chicago. Our unique partnership is designed to provide youth artists immersive career exploration and mentorship experiences with artists and industry leaders.

While partially supported through city grants from the Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events (DCASE) and DFSS’ MyChiMyFuture, we depend on donations from artist supporters and recurring donors like you to build on and expand these important, yet rare cultural career exploration programs.

We appreciate your support required to sustain and grow these valuable art and creative career programs and partnerships. Thank you!
