Comer teens from the Visual Arts Program "The Arts Apprenticeship"competed in a holiday card design contest and everyone was a winner! The project was the vision of Liz Thompson and The Cleveland Avenue Foundation for Education (The CAFE). After a landscape scan of arts programs around the city, The CAFE selected the Comer Visual and Cultural Arts Program, funded in part by After School Matters, as the collaborative partner for the venture to design a holiday card for reproduction and use by The CAFE this holiday season. Teen participants were asked to express what the holidays mean to them especially during these difficult times of racial tension and a global pandemic. Each student hand drew, painted and designed a card with the guidance of teaching artist, Daria Amerik.
