Our youth and their family members had an opportunity to see The Obama Portraits by Kehinde Wiley & Amy Sherald currently on view at Art Institute Chicago. They also toured Bisa Butler: Portraits, an exhibition that captures personal and historical narratives of Black life. Youth paid close attention to how the artists empowered their communities in their portrayals of African American people and culture. A big thank you to the Obama Foundation who covered ticket costs for our field trip!
